A Ranere Christmas Eve

There is probably unanimous agreement in the Ranere household that Christmas Eve is the best day of the year... we grew up with such wonderful memories of nights spent with the extended Ranere, Gentilucci and Coady families and close friends, enjoying Italian feasts and singing carols around the piano (no matter how horribly out of tune we were!). We have carried this tradition through the years, and we look forward to each and every one.

This year was particularly special for us as we welcomed Owen and Finley into the family. Knowing there is a new generation of kids to share in these festivities put a smile on all of our faces.

Once the kids were put to bed and the last of the guests left, Grammy, Papa, Stevie, Kristen, Katy, Jack and I broke into a few more bottles of wine, and Stevie would argue, a few too many Christmas carols. Though we were out of tune, off key, sometimes pitchy, and often signing lyrics that were completely wrong, we had a blast. We missed Kit who was in Raleigh getting ready to leave for the NC State Bowl, but we left a few voicemails to make sure he felt like he was there. I promised that I wouldn't post any of the evidence here, and trust me, if you had to listen to us, you'd probably be thankful!

Hope all of your Christmas Eves were just as wonderful!
