The Eagle has landed!

While not as historic as Armstrong's walk on the moon, we think this is a pretty exciting day...

Since Thanksgiving, Owen has been in training for this moment... he has spent countless hours walking around with us, at first holding both of our hands, and in recent weeks, holding just one. In the past few days, he's become more brave and has taken 3 or 4 steps on his own before sitting down and opting to crawl (or more likely, whine at us until we pick him up... yes, we are still suckers). But today, he made it across the room, back and forth, a number of times. In fact, he worked up such a sweat that we ended up stripping him down to his diaper and t-shirt.

We'll try to capture more of his adventures on foot... while we probably won't be sitting down again anytime soon, we are quite relieved to carry around our 26 lb baby a little less!

GO O!!!! I am smiling through tears at your big milestone.

We're so proud of you down here in DC. Even the President thinks you should come down to walk under the cherry blossoms as a celebration! (Tell your Mom and Dad this is a presidential invitation.)

Can't wait to see O'WalkMan in action!! (But, O, how I'll miss holding those little hands!)

Miss you SO much!

Much love,
Your GM
