Just a Walk in the Park

Literally. And, unfortunately, not figuratively.

No question the last week has been trying. But as we round third and head home on week 1, we finally have a clue what we're doing. Case in point, how to properly swaddle Little O (see below).

How can it take 5 days to learn how to swaddle effectively, you may ask? I'm afraid we can't answer that. But we've learned that one must not do this too loosely lest his little arms flail about and make the little bugger really PO'd. In our defense, it's difficult to snugly wrap your newborn child in what is effectively a straight jacket...

It being a nice day here we did, in fact, go for a walk in the park. Owen, still comfortably swaddled, snoozed while his parents enjoyed the weather and scenery of Central Park. Hard to believe that, in the middle of NYC, this is less than a block away!

But this was the greatest sight of all - Suey walking around, chatting away on her cell phone. She looks great. The only clue that she gave birth on Monday was the stroller she pushed in front of her. Love that smile! And, in my biased opinion, she's quickly become a phenomenal mother.

Suey, you look wonderful, as always! And those boys look pretty good, too. Glad you got outside for a while. Love you all, Kate

It's all about the swaddle and those other (five?) "s"'s... Suey, you look fantastic - so good that you guys can get out and enjoy the big apple's finest greenery with little O! - Katy

Owen, you look like a little angel to me! I can't believe your parents would say differently.

Has it only been a week? Wow, look how much you guys have learned from that little bundle (swaddle)of joy. Seems like you've done a wonderful job so far, sleep deprivation notwithstanding. I can't wait to get there to hold that baby! Love you!
